About Us

The idea of tiny began with a simple cardboard box - the packaging of a new refrigerator in a small apartment. It was placed in their three-year-old daughter Layla’s room, and she immediately claimed it as her den. Friends, artists and designers who visited, started cutting imaginative openings that created playful patterns of light and shadow.
The cardboard house became something wonderful - Layla didn’t want to leave it, and over the course of several weeks it kept changing and evolving. Because the family cared about keeping their home orderly, and as the cardboard began to wear out, after a few weeks it was decided to throw it away - but with the promise to create one that would last.
That moment sparked the idea for a modular system that could adapt to different spaces, invite repeated building, and hold the qualities of a sculpture in the living room. After years of intensive development (Layla is 8 by now), involving material research, connector engineering, and prototyping of the various elements - the concept was fully defined, with patents underscoring its originality and design‭.‬
